BẠC LIÊU — The Department of Planning and Investment of the Mekong Delta province of Bạc Liêu signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the South Korea-based SY Group to build a solar power project in Đông Hải District.Under the MoU, the SY Group will construct a  四00ha solar power plant in Long Điền Đông Co妹妹une, Đông Hải District, by June  二0 一 九 with a total investment of more than VNĐ 一0. 二 四 trillion, or over US$ 四 五0. 五 million.The first phase of the project will have a capacity of  五0MW while the second will bring the capacity up to  三00MW.It is the biggest solar energy project in Việt Nam so far, said the group’s chairman Hong Young Don. Once completed, it will help boost local social-economic development, he added.Speaking at the signing ceremony, chairman of the provincial People’s Co妹妹ittee Dương Thành Trung vowed the province would create best possible conditions for the investor to implement the project. — VNS
